Upcoming events of 2022
Cultural and sporting events: Dubai's music scene is quite rich, thanks also to the fact that many foreigners live in the city. Multiculturalism is also reflected in events, such as the Dubai Tango Festival or the Middle East Film and Comic Con, the meeting point for thousands of fans of popular culture and entertainment in the Middle East, where the public is given the opportunity to to know artists, writers, directors and entrepreneurs of the show and entertainment. The largest music festival in the Middle East could only be held in Dubai: it is the RedFestDXB which lasts two days, and many great artists of the international scene have alternated in past editions on the specially set up stages in the Dubai Media City Amphiteatre. Next to the stages they find the best street food vendors from all over the Middle East, and you can admire several really interesting interactive installations. Jazz music fans, on the other hand, look forward to the Dubai Jazz Fest every year; artists such as Santana, Sting, James Blunt, David Gray, Peter King, James, Mike Stern and many others have alternated on its stages. Also for the Dubai Jazz Fest the location is the Dubai Media City Amphiteatre.
Sporting events: 2022 will be the year of the World Cup in Qatar. A historic event given that the intercontinental review will be held for the first time in autumn. The inaugural match will be played on November 21, 2022 at the Al-Bayt stadium in Al Khawr. The final, on the other hand, is scheduled for 18 December 2022 at the National Stadium in Lusail.
Expo 2021: The theme of Expo 2021 in Dubai is “Connecting minds, Creating future” - “Connecting minds, Creating the future”.
The basic idea that led to the choice of the theme is the belief that today more than ever humanity must come together and remember what unites us and makes us stronger in order to create a better future. The Dubai Universal Exposition presents itself as a mega-showcase of the best examples of collaboration, innovation and cooperation from around the world. It will be held at the Dubai trade Center-Jebel Ali, a new 4.38 sq km exhibition center set up in an area of southern Dubai. Until a few years ago completely deserted, today it is a strategic area, about halfway between the center of Dubai and that of Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates.
